Long And Winding Road

One of my favorite Beatles/Paul McCartney songs is Long and Winding Road and that is what I felt like I was on with my long run this morning.  I decided on more of a figure 8 course instead of my usual out and back.  I traveled along a rolling rural road passing 2 golf courses and 2 farms bringing me around to beautiful water views ending through various neighborhoods.  So much to see and experience today. Second Chances

What a glorious day for a long run!  I got out a little later than I wanted due to stomach woes but it all worked out perfect.  12 miles in the books in just under 2  hours at an overall pace of 9:31.  It was just a good run  full of energy, strong legs and of serenity.  It has been a while since I have been able to put it on auto pilot and just zone out and enjoy a long run.  Insert happy dance here.     Refueling the body after a long run which according to the Garmin Forerunner burned 1423 calories is key to recovery.  I followed the run with a Green Monster with Vega Shake & Go Smoothie with all of it perfect protein added to the mix and some healthy pancakes made … Read entire article »

Yoga & Pancakes

 I find that running 3 days in a row is not the best for my body so this morning I woke up and knew it would be a yoga day.  Exercise TV is a great way to add variety to your fitness routine.  This morning I discovered Jillian Michael’s Yoga Meltdown.  (source) Today I started out with the Level 1 option which was a great 30 minute workout.  Check out Exercise TV’s description:  Level 1 workout focuses on quick flowing yoga sequences to burn mega calories.
