Making Up
I don’t know how many times I’ve read or have been told that you should not try to make up missed mileage during training. My brain understands that in the scheme of the 400 plus miles I will put in during marathon training that missing a few miles will not upset the balance. But in true marathon madness form, I did in fact try to play catch up to the missed 3 miles from last … Read entire article »

Going Long
Long distance Sunday in a few words. 12 miles in 1:54:18 – I did wear my older shoes for today’s run which was definitely the right decision. My only concern now is just how weak my right quad feels. I’ve experienced ITB problems with the other leg, but this does not feel like the start of an ITB issue. So I am really at a loss, I can’t figure this one out. I Am Done
Happy Sunday! Another snow fall last night left us about 2 inches of fresh snow. Daily Mile: Ran 4:45 in 43 minutes. It was a little more difficult to run in and gave my legs more of a workout. I was feeling good … Read entire article »

Leaves Of Fun
A cyclone of leaves swirled in from of me several times on my morning run. It was a very blustery 4.5 miles of fun. Well, I think it was 4.5 miles it may have been a little more but less than 5. The Garmin Forerunner was not operational…bummer! I came back with an hankering for Pumpkin Pancakes. Yummy, can you tell? Good to the last crumbs. Fall in New England means leaves. Many, many leaves. In my … Read entire article »
Day Off
It was a beautiful day to be off from work, sunny and in the 60′s. I slept a little later than normal, which was a luxury. I had the remainder of the A Really Good Pancake Recipe I made the other day, but because I did not have any pumpkin in the house so I used banana. I battled the grand opening of a new Market Basket grocery store in our area with my mom, boy was that … Read entire article »

Asics to Fuzzy slippers
Whew, the last long run of marathon #4 training is done. 22 miles in 3:32:33 at a 9:39 pace I’m not going to say it was all easy. For sure it had it’s moments, but I was able to overcome old doubts trying to resurface. I pushed them out of my mind and stayed focused on the goal at hand. This is exactly the attitude that I need to duplicate on race day. Never did I think that my comfort mileage … Read entire article »
