Finding Peace In A Perfect Plan

Finding Peace In A Perfect Plan

I believe God is always with me.  Even in my running.  Sometimes I do not feel Him close to me, but that is not because He has changed.  No, it is because I have moved away from Him.  Whether intentionally or unintentionally, it really doesn’t matter. God never turns away from me, I turn from Him.  So I find it funny how God catches hold of us in the small things to regain our focus … Read entire article »

Happy Christmas Eve

Happy Christmas Eve

One of my favorite Christmas songs. Play: Mary, Did You Know Sometimes I catch myself thinking, where did the year go?  Can it really be Christmas Eve? Christmas decorations have been up for a few weeks. Hours of Christmas music played. Christmas dinner has been planned. Deliciously sweet snacks prepared. Presents wrapped and placed under the tree. A multitude of Christmas movies have been watched. Every now and again I wish that I could escape life and settle into a cozy cottage like … Read entire article »

A Day Of Gifts

Where does one really begin?  Life’s little moments are meant to be cherished not to be hurried past in all the hustle and bustle.  Just like most of us at one time or another I am guilty of living a selfish existence.  A “me-focused” mentality is seen every day in the media, most forms of entertainment, at our workplace and yes even in our homes and personal relationships.  But then we get reminders and wake up calls that life is precious.  Life is to be shared.  That there is purpose to all the crazy and the sad.  That there is hope and gifts….. a newly discovered blog that opens my eyes realizing that the grass is not greener…. for a husband who at least tries to understand my crazy ways the ability to run for … Read entire article »

5 Minute Friday: New

It’s Friday again and I missed Gypsy Mama’s 5 Minute Friday last week so I wanted to set a goal to participate today.  So here we go.    Ready…. Sometimes the word new can be scary.  It conjures up fears especially if you are starting a new relationship or new job or even setting new goals and starting new dreams. I often think about what it means to start a new life in Christ.  Having accepted Christ as my personal savior at an early age, I often forget how exciting it must be for new Christians.  It is my prayer to never grow cold on those feelings, but life often steps in front of us, sidelines us and even confuses us.  It may be difficult to remember the exact moment I became a new … Read entire article »

Life’s Speed Bumps

During my recent staycation I ran 6 days straight totaling 30 miles.   It felt great having the ability and endurance to accomplish that and enjoy it in the process.  The goal was to take the 2 following days to rest and get back out on the road Friday.  My body had other unexpected plans.  Friday morning I awoke at 2 am with my throat screaming like a hot alarm.  Where did that come from?  I’ve spent the last 2 days in throat agony.  It feels like I have a burning speed bump stopping any comfortable eating,  drinking and just the natural swallowing process. Let the pity part begin, right?  Well that is me when I get sick.  Then you hear about tragic stories like a co-worker’s husband who is fighting cancer, … Read entire article »

Running The Word Race: Light

….the Word of God is alive and powerful…..  One of my favorite times to run is when darkness gives way to the light of the new day.  As an early morning runner living in New England I can experience this more often when the clock springs ahead an hour with daylight savings time.  There is something so powerful about taking in the start of a new day during the physical act of running.  Absorbing the light at the beginning carries me through the day of working in an office setting for eight hours.  When I think about the word light, my first thought is of Jesus and all He has provided:  Understanding:  “The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand. (Psalm 119:130) Salvation:  He said, “I have come as … Read entire article »
