Run Gloucester! A Race Recap

Run Gloucester! A Race Recap

An early morning 4 am wake up call had me on the road by 5:15 am heading north of Boston to the beautiful seaport of Gloucester.  I’ve been to neighboring towns, but never to the city of Gloucester.  What got me going so early you ask.  Well, a race of course!  I wanted to broaden my racing horizons by partaking in runs in new areas to me.  The Gloucester Road Race was a perfect start.  This … Read entire article »

Put Down The Cookies

Put Down The Cookies

Over the last 18 months I’ve been meeting with a Health Coach who has not only helped me with my running but with nutrition and weight loss.  After one food log review at  Greg’s gentle nudging I drastically reduced my consumption of cheese.  Don’t get me wrong, I still eat cheese, but instead of several times a day it’s just several times a week.  During our last meeting we discussed eliminating wheat from my diet.  … Read entire article »

5 Minute Friday: New

It’s Friday again and I missed Gypsy Mama’s 5 Minute Friday last week so I wanted to set a goal to participate today.  So here we go.    Ready…. When The Rains Come

When The Rains Come

Last weekend, Providence held their first Rock n Roll Half Marathon. And the weather was rain, rain and oh, a little more rain. After battling through 13.1 miles in what has been the worst weather conditions I’ve experience so far in my racing history, I got to thinking about all the things I do to keep safe in the rain.  A few days later I posted a run on DailyMile and a friend asked me for advice … Read entire article »

A Wet & Wild Half Marathon

A Wet & Wild Half Marathon

Last year when I heard that the Rock N Roll Marathon series was coming to Providence I was thrilled.  So excited in fact I signed up for the race a year to the day in advance.  We stopped in at the expo to pick up my bib, swag bag and shirt.  I was pleased with the quality and vendor selection.  They provided many fun photo-ops…. But my favorite find of the expo has to be discovering  Raw Threads.  … Read entire article »

Five Minute Friday: Whole

I started with this trend last week and found it so liberating that I wanted to follow along again this week.  Thank you Gypsy Mama for the motivation. What is 5 Minute Friday? Five minutes to remember that we are creatures sculpted by The WORD  and made for The WORD and beloved by The WORD.  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:1-3. So on Fridays, we take the dare to become Word Artists. To throw editing and proof reading and critically raised eyebrows out the window. We finger paint with our words – in pink and blue … Read entire article »
