Feeling Like Road Kill…Marathon* Recap
* I was so looking forward to being able to write about my fifth marathon finish, but today will not be that day. Saturday I headed to the western part of the state to the Berkshires to run the Memorial Day Marathon in Lenox, MA being held Sunday. It was a 3 hour drive and we arrived at Tanglewood, serving as the start/finish and expo area, around noon time. The grounds were beautiful, however the expo … Read entire article »
A Little Inspiration
When it comes to inspiration where do you turn? Today I watched my saved broadcast of the Boston Marathon. Because I had gone into Boston to watch the runners pass along the course at mile marker 19 and knew the outcome of the elite race I never felt the need to watch my DVR entry until today. I am so glad I waited. It was exactly what I needed today. In 2 days I will be lacing up my shoes to once again take on 26.2 miles. Sometimes you just need a little inspiration or moments of captured emotions you can recall to pull you through those rough patches. Well, I battled the extra pain associated with this wonder of a woman’s body (whatever!) for one reason. It was the deciding run in whether or not I run The Memorial Day Marathon in 14 … Read entire article »

Left It On The Pole
A couple of weeks ago I posted the following comment over at BeckOnTheRun. Her post got me thinking about how important it is to always be striving. Becky’s question asked to talk about a time when you tested your limits or stepped outside of your comfort zone. This was my response: “Pushing the edge, digging deep, stepping out of the comfort zone are all things that are necessary to become better versions of ourselves. I once … Read entire article »

Stretching The Double
I’ve been taking full advantage of the beautiful spring weather over the last few weeks to double up longer runs on the weekends. It is nice to see that my running is becoming consistent. With consistency however I do not want to become complacent. Complacency,I believe, can lead to injury. It is easy to get too comfortable in a certain distance or pace giving you a false sense of self. Dangerous road to fall onto when … Read entire article »
