The Miles of 2010

The Miles of 2010

1,274.37 Total miles I ran this year.  I am actually amazed by this number.  Looking back over all those miles I realize that somewhere between the miles I learned the meaning of life.  OK, not really, but it did solidify that running is a lifestyle that I will always choose. There are days when running is hard.  Days when we are in a fight.  But through it all, running is a constant even on days like today when … Read entire article »

Where Are You Going?

Where Are You Going?

“If you don’t know where you are going, you will never arrive there.”  I read this on Twitter today and found the statement simple but true.  It is so easy for us to get wrapped up in the day to day that we loose sight of the big picture.  Lately, I have become guilty of this very thing. It seems after accomplishing my running goals this year and then recently having to miss a whole week … Read entire article »

Christmas morning started out with a little run.  4.53 miles in 42:00.  That was my little gift to myself. After a shower and … Read entire article »

What Makes You Crazy?

What Makes You Crazy?

For some time now there have been reports on just how unclean bottle waters truly are.  I’m not sure about you but when the facts started coming to light I was shocked.  Spring water, reverse osmosis, purified became terms just fancy marketing schemes used to dress up tap water.  Today I read about a recent Environmental Working Group test that uncovered 38 contaminants in 10 brands of bottled water.  Contaminants including: DBP’s (disinfection byproducts) Nitrate Caffeine Arsenic  … Read entire article »

Beat the Germs

Beat the Germs

It’s Sunday.  A dreary and rainy Sunday.  Typically a run day, but not this Sunday. Instead I’ve been on the couch cuddled inside my blankie just willing myself not to get any sicker. Yesterday started out as a great morning.  It was 28 degrees with calm winds so it actually felt 28 and could easily become one of my favorite temps to run in.  I dressed in my new running skirt, 1 long sleeve tech shirt base … Read entire article »
