Oh Baby

Its not only the weekend, but for me it is the start of 4 days off from work!  Oh baby! This morning was another fab-u-lous morning.  Zero humidity meant an easy breathing run.  Just a 4 miler but it was not the relaxing run I was anticipating.  Somewhere before mile 2 a sharp pain appeared in my lower right shin.  But, I am not going to overreact because it may be nothing.  After my evening run Wednesday I did notice a little tightness so this may just be some residual effects from that off schedule run. (she says with a hopeful heart) Are you ready for breakfast?  When I got back from the run I made Sweet Potato Pancakes that Tina had posted last week.    Oh baby these were amazing!  At first it may seem odd to put sweet potato … Read entire article »

Lucky 7

What a gorgeous morning.  Did you have the day you desired? I started my day at a very early 4:10 am to get in a 7 mile hill run before work. Is it crazy that my favorite run of the week is now the hill workout?  I use to hate hills.  Any race I ran that had the slightest hill use to scare me and now I am out looking for routes with the biggest hills.  As something that you once hated in your fitness routine become something you now love? Today’s run went well.  I felt awake, strong and very refreshed afterwards.  Everything you could want in a run.  The final word on the run was a display of lucky numbers:  7.07 miles in 1:07.  Maybe I should have played the lottery today. Another lucky … Read entire article »

Off Subject: Life’s Bloopers

I love bloopers!  What is it about watching missteps, stumbles, or flubbing of words that can just crack you up?  I’ve just been watching last night’s The Bachelorette Men Tell All which includes behind the scene mistakes.  Reality TV bloopers are some of my favorites. They create the perfect blend of real life wrapped up in a production package. In my life I have had many bloopers most of which consist of saying absolutely the wrong thing.  It’s like news anchors who say something so random because their mind wanders from the serious story.  Hilarious!   Check these out. Life can be so random.  It can be brilliant one day and let’s be honest it can be crap the next.  I recently read that we should guard what we allow our minds to dwell on because those thoughts run our lives.  Today, I choose to think about all of life’s bloopers … Read entire article »

A Weekend Of Firsts

After such a rough week the weekend shined brightly.  I stayed the course of marathon training, saw an amazing concert and tried a few new recipes.  First, about last night.  The Hubby and I drove out to Gillette Stadium for the Bon Jovi concert. After a fast moving thunderstorm the night was perfect with a nice breeze for the outdoor event.  We were actually a little late due to an accident so we only saw 20 minutes of Kid Rock’s act which in my opinion was 20 minutes too long.  At about 9:30 Bon Jovi took the stage.   Let the screaming fest begin! Although far away, are seats were straight on facing the stage and I thought they were perfect.  Jon Bon Jovi bigger than life! What a smile! And he says good-night.  What an amazing show!  We got home earlier than anticipated, but it was … Read entire article »

Turning Grumpy Around

I’ve had a tough few days …. Need I say more? Now that is over I am so glad to be back in blog world.  Back in March, The Hubby surprised me with Bon Jovi tickets and the concert is finally tonight! What a great way to end a wicked week,  I am so excited!  I’ve always wanted to see Bon Jovi in concert.  Who is that one dream act you have yet to see in concert?   Because it is going to be a late night I decided I better get my long run in today so I can sleep in a little tomorrow.    Today’s run was a 10 miler completed in 1:37:48 at a 9:45 pace.  I do love finding new products that adhere to the Eat Clean lifestyle.  Today I tried a new product for lunch.  This can of … Read entire article »

Colliding Worlds

Is it just me or when you start reading another person’s blog you begin to think that you actually know them from the tiny pieces of life they’ve chosen to share through their stories, reviews and updates?  Then when they offer comments on your blog you also get a sense of this virtual friendship through their encouragement, advice and answers to questions.  All of this even though you have never meet them in the real world.  What a strange and wonderful thing our blog world can be!   Yesterday I had the opportunity to meet a four fabulous ladies.  Becky, Lauren, Melissa, Lindsay and I all met up for our Blogger Meet Up at Don Jose Tequilas in Providence’s Federal Hill.   Because it felt like we knew each other on some level it seemed odd shaking hands and making introductions when in my head we felt … Read entire article »
