Run A Dream In 4 Parts

Run A Dream In 4 Parts

When I got the email saying my Invitation Entry into the 2012 Boston Marathon had been excepted I was able to let out the breath I’d been holding since sending in the application.  I was so excited and relieved that I did not even care they spelled my name wrong. Part 1 of pursuing my dream had now come true…entry Part 2 of making this dream a reality had begun this week….training Part 3 will take place in … Read entire article »

The Last Half

The Last Half

Yesterday I headed down to Falmouth, MA to run my last half marathon of 2011.  It was a classic cloudy cool fall morning and just how I like it.  I arrived just over an hour early to pick up my bib and loosen up a bit from the hour drive.  Unfortunately I found the bib pick up a bit more hectic than it should have been but still made it through the bathroom line and … Read entire article »

Tuesday while at the chiropractor he mentioned that the “old school” way to reduce swelling is by placing an onion directly on the skin and wrapping it into place.  Although I was a bit amazed by this tidbit of knowledge I had forgotten it until this morning.  I thought, what the heck.  I have nothing to lose….but maybe some swelling. It’s day 6 … Read entire article »

A Week’s Difference

A Week’s Difference

What a difference a week can make.  Last Sunday I drove up to Gloucester and set a new PR only to go out today for a 12 mile training run to be sidelined by a sprained ankle in mile one. The 5th and last running of the Lone Gull 10K was last weekend.  It was a fabulous race.  Fun course.  Beautiful town.  Perfect weather.  This trinity lead to a new 10K PR for me and I … Read entire article »
