Dark Day of Winter
Our New England weather as been mild to say the least. Until Friday that is. We got about an inch on Friday, but it had stopped before my morning run leaving me a nice snow cushioned path. Saturday, however we were hit with our first real snow storm of the season. I believe it was around 5-7 inches by the time it finally stopped. Yesterday I headed down to Falmouth, MA to run my last half marathon of 2011. It was a classic cloudy cool fall morning and just how I like it. I arrived just over an hour early to pick up my bib and loosen up a bit from the hour drive. Unfortunately I found the bib pick up a bit more hectic than it should have been but still made it through the bathroom line and … Read entire article »
Number 7
Last weekend I ran my 7th half marathon of 2011. A year ago I ran the full marathon and loved the half marathon portion so much I wanted to add the half marathon to my race schedule this year and I am so glad I did. It was another perfect fall weather weekend and my ankle and foot was in much better shape than last weekend’s race. Much like the B.A.A. half marathon, there was no available … Read entire article »
I Will Rise
Sometimes a race may not end exactly the way you hoped or anticipated. There is just no way to control the outcome despite all your efforts. Could it be in those less than perfect times we find something new about ourselves? My October was to be filled with 3 amazing half marathons, however, God had other plans. If you are a repeat reader you know that 2 weeks ago I injured my ankle and it was … Read entire article »
