All Done, A Sad Goodbye

All Done, A Sad Goodbye

Any empty bed and collar equals broken hearts and so many tears. Dragon House Hot Shots aka Schotzie became part of our pack on August 5, 2000 but will say forever in our hearts.                        November 7, 1997    ~   August 1, 2011  Over the years his squishy face, kind eyes and gentle spirit wrapped us around his little paw.  He was always eager to please and always wanted to be with his people.  We often commented on … Read entire article »

Five Minute Friday: Still

A while back I discovered (in)courage which is part of the DaySpring brand.  Even though I’ve used DaySpring products in the past it wasn’t until recently that I rediscovered their website and all the encouraging blogs attached to it.  Some of the regular bloggers at (in)courage take part in a series known as Five Minute Friday.  Here’s the scoop:                                                                                                        Five minutes to remember that we are creatures sculpted by The WORD  and made for The WORD and beloved by The WORD.  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:1-3. So on Fridays, we take the dare to … Read entire article »

Let’s Go Racing!

After taking a year off from running any of the short distance races in my local area I laced up my shoes and went out for 2 races. Fairhaven Road Race – June 19th When I crossed the finish line it was not a 10K PR, but it was a PR for this particular route.  In 2007 I completed it in 59:27 and in 2009 I completed it in 55:56 so taking another 2 minutes off my time on this course and only being a minute shy of my overall 10K PR made me extremely happy. Mattapoisett Road Race – July 4th    There is something about running a race on a holiday.  It creates an an extra special vibe or excitement.  Today was no exception.  Back in 2008 I completed this race in … Read entire article »

A Little Speed & Lots Of Fur

A Little Speed & Lots Of Fur

Our New England Winter has been in a word, Harsh.  Snow, ice, freezing rain, and low temps.  I like to think that it is making me stronger having to endure these frigid conditions.  Today, was another morning to test my will, but this morning was different.  I felt so comfortable and it was only 14 degrees!  I started out with my iPhone playlist and somewhere in mile 2 it hit a Coaching compilation that I had … Read entire article »

Downward Facing Dog

Downward Facing Dog

I love being on vacation from work!  It doesn’t matter that I have no major plans or exotic trip to take.  Sometimes you just need a break from your work life.  This morning I did something I haven’t done in months.  Yoga.  Not sure when or why I stopped but after today I’m committing to a least once a week.  I did not realize how tight I’d become.  This practice was not a pretty sight but … Read entire article »

Leaves Of Fun

Leaves Of Fun

A cyclone of leaves swirled in from of me several times on my morning run.  It was a very blustery 4.5 miles of fun.  Well, I think it was 4.5 miles it may have been a little more but less than 5.  The Garmin Forerunner was not operational…bummer! I came back with an hankering for Pumpkin Pancakes.  Yummy, can you tell?  Good to the last crumbs. Fall in New England means leaves.  Many, many leaves.  In my … Read entire article »
