I’m What?
Three days ago I turned, gulp, 40 years old. Very hard to believe that another decade has passed. Funny thing is I had an extremely difficult time turning 30, but I am honestly embracing the 40. Seriously, why shouldn’t I? It’s merely a number. It reflects only what I want it to. If I feel old, then I am old. If I feel young and vibrant then that is what I am. I celebrated by taking … Read entire article »
Home For The Holidays Virtual 10K
The other day on DailyMile I ran across a group having a spirited virtual 10K and I thought it would be fun to participate. You can check out all the details with Stephanie. It appears many took on the virtual 10k with gusto. There were costumes and group runs all celebrating the holidays with a healthy approach sprinkled with a ton of fun. For me, I chose to run the 10k alone in the wee hours … Read entire article »

A Week’s Difference
What a difference a week can make. Last Sunday I drove up to Gloucester and set a new PR only to go out today for a 12 mile training run to be sidelined by a sprained ankle in mile one. The 5th and last running of the Lone Gull 10K was last weekend. It was a fabulous race. Fun course. Beautiful town. Perfect weather. 5 Minute Friday: Rest
Today I am playing along with The Gypsy Mama as we all write unedited for five minutes about her trigger word. Here goes: Next month I will be running 3 half marathons so this is not the time to be resting. But it seems like over the past month I am loosing the motivation to move forward. This is not the time to be resting. It is the time to be moving and getting in the best shape to accomplish all three races in the time I am shooting for. I will rest when the races are over but not before then, not now. When I think of rest my little puppy girl, Noah always comes to mind. She seems to find the most comfortable sleeping positions where she snuggles down or curls … Read entire article »

Five Minute Friday: Whole
I started with this trend last week and found it so liberating that I wanted to follow along again this week. Thank you Gypsy Mama for the motivation. What is 5 Minute Friday? Five minutes to remember that we are creatures sculpted by The WORD and made for The WORD and beloved by The WORD. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. John 1:1-3. So on Fridays, we take the dare to become Word Artists. To throw editing and proof reading and critically raised eyebrows out the window. We finger paint with our words – in pink and blue … Read entire article »

All Done, A Sad Goodbye
Any empty bed and collar equals broken hearts and so many tears. Dragon House Hot Shots aka Schotzie became part of our pack on August 5, 2000 but will say forever in our hearts. November 7, 1997 ~ August 1, 2011 Over the years his squishy face, kind eyes and gentle spirit wrapped us around his little paw. He was always eager to please and always wanted to be with his people. We often commented on … Read entire article »
