Something Old & Something New

Something Old & Something New

And it’s snowing, again.  In their attempt at safety, work closed early releasing us at 3:30 so that we could be home before dark.  Good idea except it seems everyone else was going home at the same time making for a frustrating ride home. Something old:  Snow.  Enough is enough already! Why or Why did I choose this way home?  For dinner I tried something new.  Steel Cut Oats for dinner?    Am I wrong to consider this more of a … Read entire article »

3 In 3

3 In 3

Crazy runner.  That is who I was today.  I mean really, 3 degrees and I still ran outside.  OK, it was not a long run…just 3.77 miles but it was 3 degrees!  Brrrrrr.  It was hard the first mile, I warmed up a bit the second mile and was comfortable into the third but not sure I would have wanted to go that much further than I did.  When I got back I stated that my cheeks … Read entire article »

Free Time

Free Time

Yesterday afternoon’s vibe around the office cooler was that of an impending day off.  Like when you were a kid in school and just the thought of school being cancelled was enough to make you giddy.  Living in New England it is rare for my company to close, but today was the exception.  Wahoo!   We ended up with about 5 inches overnight.  No fluffy flakes here, it was the wet break your back heavy snow.  Just … Read entire article »

Hot Potato

It was a scorcher today and my brain is fried.    (source) I did get my scheduled 4 mile run in this morning but it was brutal!  Does it seem like I have been stuck on 4 miles?  Don’t worry after tomorrow I graduate to 5+ miles during the week!  At least with the heat I did actually slow down a bit to be more in line with the estimated pace the program stated.  I don’t think that tomorrow morning is going to be any better in the weather department either.  YIKES! Since the heat has completely drained me of any creativity I thought I would share with you my extremely yummy dinner from last night.  I’ve picked up Clean Eating Magazine since adopting this way of eating back in November and have found it … Read entire article »

Running again

So it has been a very trying week. After my last post last week I experienced a chink in my immunity armor. My body decided it needed a rest and I listened for once. Today was the first day back running and I am grateful for getting my strength back, the gorgeous Spring like weather but most of all that this week happened to be my recovery week in marathon training. After a week of clouds, rain and snow showers the sun was shining so brightly through my bedroom window this morning I could not wait to jump into my running gear and hit the road. 6 glorious miles later I was home putting a healthy Eat Clean breakfast together. Of course I had a Green Monster Smoothie. I say of course … Read entire article »
