Spring Cleaning
How was your Saturday?
My day started with a practice from yogadownload. Today was Yoga for buns.
Then I spent most of the day Spring cleaning. There is nothing better than a top to bottom clean house. It just gives me an oh so happy feeling. I know, strange, right?
Funny, how we schedule time to clean our houses but what about taking inventory of our bodies to clean up our health and fitness needs too? I know I have some cobwebs and dust bunnies lurking around upsetting the balance of optimal health. When is the last time you did a little spring cleaning on your health?
Noah and Schotzie wondering why there was so much fuss about a clean house. Oh, but they are not complaining or they would be in the, dare I say it, dog house.
I have not provided a Clean Eating Tip this week so here goes: One of the easiest ways to eat clean while on the go is to pack a cooler. Being prepared for the day will prevent you from having to make unhealthy choices or pick options that you will not be unhappy about later.

I pack a cooler every day for work that contains two snacks and lunch. It does take time to be prepared but it is so worth it not only to my health but to my wallet.
Today between all of the cleaning I made sure that I ate well and stayed hydrated for my last long run before next week’s marathon.
Breakfast – Brown rice/spelt flour pancake with flaxseed topped with Greek yogurt and blueberries
Snack – 2 egg whites with a slice of Ezekiel 4:9 bread spread with a Laughing Cow Swiss cheese wedge
Lunch – Pasta and chickpeas with tomato sauce, Clementine and Mary’s Gone Crackers with hummus.
Snack 2 – A glass of Vega Sports Performance Optimizer and a Vega Whole Food Vibrancy Bar. I was a little disappointed to discover today after I ate the Vibrancy Bar that it is made with agave nectar.
Dinner – A casserole of sorts with a little organic ground beef, chickpeas, onion, zucchini and brown rice.
Snack 3 – Almost desert like Ezekiel 4:9 tortilla with Trader Joe’s raw almond butter, half a banana and a few Sunspire grain sweetened chocolate chips.
Now it is off to bed so my body can fully recover from today’s activities and be ready to run 10 miles tomorrow early in the AM. Sweet dreams, Bloggies.
