Germs be gone!

Sunday is step #2 in my goal of running 4 half marathons this year.  I ran the New Bedford Half in March and this weekend is the Shape Up RI Half Marathon in Providence.

I was so excited to use this race as my long training run as I prepare for the Key Bank Vermont City Marathon.  I was also hoping that this weekend would be the race I could use to set a new half marathon PR.   My current PR was set in Salem, MA at the Wicked Half Marathon.  I’ve run this race twice and only missed it last year because I was still nursing a foot injury.   This is such a great course, so challenging, beautiful and perfectly organized.

However, this morning when I woke up with a sore throat and stuffy nose those hopes deflated a bit.  The Hubby got sick last week starting off with very similar symptoms that quickly became a chest cold and cough which he is just now getting over.  My fear is if my immune system can not fight off this bug then I may not be racing at all this weekend and then I will be a big Cranky Face!  So Germs Be Gone!!!

I have been taking extra vitamins today and was all about the Zicam (homeopathic) and gargling with Apple Cider Vinegar.  At this point all I can do is keep the faith that my immune system is strong enough from all the Clean Eating and running  to fight, fight, fight.
