Asics to Fuzzy slippers
Whew, the last long run of marathon #4 training is done.
22 miles in 3:32:33 at a 9:39 pace
I’m not going to say it was all easy. For sure it had it’s moments, but I was able to overcome old doubts trying to resurface. I pushed them out of my mind and stayed focused on the goal at hand. This is exactly the attitude that I need to duplicate on race day.
Never did I think that my comfort mileage would change from the 10 to 15 mile mark. Choosing a clean eating lifestyle and changing my approach to hydration has allowed me small victories out on the road. I feel like the lessons I’ve learned over the past year especially in the past 14 weeks have made me a stronger runner but maybe even more importantly, a more confident woman.
Now I have traded in the Asics 3010 for the day to enjoy an afternoon watching NASCAR in my new fuzzy slippers! These babies are great, just like a blankie for your feet. I don’t care that The Hubby thinks they look like caveman boots.
Men!
Yesterday, I decided to try a new pancake recipe thanks to Tina. You know how much I love pancakes!
Started with a little batter
Into the pan
Onto the plate
And into the belly, oh so good.
A Really Good Pancake Recipe, just add pumpkin (makes 16 good size cakes)
- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour1 cup kamut flour and 1/2 cup oat flour
- 3 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp sugarsucanat
- 1.5 cups vanilla soy milk almond milk
- 3 oz low-fat Greek yogurt
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp canola oil

My Question To You: Have you accomplished something recently that you never thought would be possible?

Congrats on the 22 miles. You are so ready for that marathon!!
My accomplishment as of late was the 1/2 marathon I ran yesterday. I didn’t think I’d ever do it and I did and loved it!!
